Purpose: The purpose of this lab was to analyze and separate Dna to find an Alu gene.
Hypothesis: I think that some people will have the Alu gene and some will not.
Materials: DNA, Pipette, Gel, primer, master mix, Microcentrifuge
Procedure: 1. Extract DNA, and put in tube in the centrifuge
2. Transfer DNA into Chelex tubes.
3. Heat in Heat block for 10 minutes
4. Transfer 50 ul to a new tube make sure you don't have any chelex beads
5. Mix with Primer and Master mix (a)
6. Make gel and put in solution
7. Take (a) and mix with dye
8. Then using a pipette put 20ul into well
Results: The results I got were I'm +/-, at 415 and 715 i have a band
